Tenafly Public Library 
Local History

The Library houses the Virginia T. Mosley Local History Collection in a large bookcase dedicated to her that was funded through the state of New Jersey Public library Grant Program.

There is access, including some digital, to the Tenafly History Photograph Collection, the Tenafly History Postcard Collection, the Mary Fisher Home Collection and more.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the collection is to provide limited public access to select Tenafly and select Bergen County historical library materials for use within the Library, and through control procedures and designated secure shelving to insure the security of these valuable materials. In a diverse community environment, the collection exists to facilitate and enable lifelong learning for all people about Tenafly's history, tradition and folklore. The collection is intended to serve as an educational support for the community's young people.

For access, please see the Reference Librarian. Walk in access is limited to the following schedule:

• Mondays: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Wednesdays: 10:00 AM to Noon
• Saturdays: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Access at other times may be arranged through appointment.
